The current United States Congress has the lowest approval rating in our Country's history !!!

 


"We the people…

 

of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America".

 

 

 


The Constitution of The United States of America spells out in the first line where the power of our great democracy lies. Unfortunately we the people have allowed the power to slip away to special interest, lobbyist, corporations and career politicians. It is time to reclaim our democracy from the people that are destroying it. Thomas Jefferson said that “All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent” now is the time for all people to be heard.
 

 

The framers of our democracy did not intend for our representatives to be career politicians !

 


         

          They foresaw the danger in this. The constitution states:

 

 “The Congress shall assemble at least once in every year.”

 

The framers intent was for our democracy to be governed by everyday people, not career politicians, for obvious reasons. Legislators would meet, enact laws, and go back to their chosen profession. Career politicians will do and say anything to keep their power. Power corrupts even those with the best intentions.
 

“Every government degenerates when trusted to the rulers of the people alone. The people themselves are its only safe depositories.”

Thomas Jefferson.

 

          Jefferson understood that “experience hath shown, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.” The framers had no fear that the result of their experiment would be that men may be trusted to govern themselves without a master. Unfortunately today’s politician does have a “master”. This master is the special interest, corporations and lobbyists that are destroying our country.

 

 

Ronald Reagan once said “It has been said that politics is the second oldest profession. I have learned that it bears a striking resemblance to the first”.

 

 

We need to get politics as usual out of government and start to tell our leaders to

GIVE BACK CONGRESS !

 

In the Gettysburg address, Abraham Lincoln said “and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”


The people choose their leaders. Unfortunately the people that are voting are not well enough informed to choose leaders that will change the status quo. Thomas Jefferson said “ Educate and inform the whole mass of the people…they are the only sure reliance from the preservation of our liberty”.

 

FDR said that “the only sure bulwark of continuing liberty is a government strong enough to protect the interests of the people, and a people strong enough and well enough informed to maintain its sovereign control over the government”.

FDR further stated that “ nobody will ever deprive the American people of the right to vote except the American people themselves and the only way they could do this is by not voting”

 

Let us never forget that government was not meant to be a power over us. The ultimate rulers of our democracy are not the President, Senators, Congressman or Government Officials, but the voters of this country.

         

 

 

 

It does not matter if we vote Democrat, Republican or Independent. We have seen Congress change power 3 times since 1994. Each time we were promised that the ways of old were over. We were told that the new party in power would return the power to the people and get rid of the status quo in Washington DC. We were promised solutions to the health care crisis, social security crisis, taxation, inflation and the deficit. In fact these were the same problems we spoke about in the 1960’s. They are still not fixed.

 

WHY ???

 

Because the special interest, lobbyist and corporations have a stranglehold on our career politicians. The special interest, lobbyist, and corporations do not care which party is in power because there are enough career politicians in both parties willing to take their money and perks to look the other way. Thomas Jefferson said “Whenever a man has cast a longing eye on offices, a rottenness begins in his conduct”. We must tell our leaders enough is enough…

 

GIVE BACK CONGRESS !!!

 

The day that "politician" became a career choice is the day we started losing the Republic. Let's get it back!

 

 

Are they really working for US ?
 


Can you imagine working for the following company?

They employ 535 employees. Can you guess what company this is?

 

• 29 employees accused of spousal abuse

• 7 employees arrested for fraud

• 19 employees accused of writing a bad check

• 117 employees bankrupt at least 2 businesses

• 3 employees arrested for assault

• 71 employees cannot get a credit card

• 14 employees arrested on drug related charges

• 8 employees arrested for shoplifting

• 21 employees are currently defendants in lawsuits

 


The company is the United States Congress. Consisting of 435 Congress people and 100 Senators.

 

These are the very same people that we trust to make decisions that affect our freedom, daily lives and most importantly our nation’s security.

 

Is it any wonder that none of the people’s business is attended too!

 

We MUST throw them all out of office. Do it one member at a time. Do not vote for any incumbents.
